| « How do I add equations to my Math tests??? | Hey, Buddy! » |
Working with media in UTIPS is not very intuitive, so hopefully these instructions will make sense. One thing to note, Firefox on either platform does not work right now with uploading images. Use Safari on the Mac, or use Internet Explorer on the PC.
Here are the steps for adding media to a question that has not already been uploaded:
- Click on the desired test.
- Click in the check box in front of the question to be edited.
- On the Menu Bar, click on Question --> Edit.
- Click on the Media button after the question.
- Click on the New button.
- Click on the Upload a File button.
- Navigate to the location of the media.
- Click on the media and then click on Open. One note - make sure that the name of the file does not have any spaces or special characters, and also has the .jpg, .gif, or .png at the end. If not, you will receive an error.
- Click the Update button to accept the changes.
If you have already uploaded your image or media, here are the steps that you need to follow:
- Select the desired test.
- Click in the check box in front of the question to be edited.
- On the Menu Bar, click on Question --> Edit.
- Click on the Media button after the question, and choose Browse.
- UTIPS will look like it has not done anything, but it is really waiting for you to select the media to insert. To do this, click on your home disk icon (at the top of the test/folder list on the left of the screen). A list of the media or images that have been previously uploaded will appear.
- Click in the check box next to the name of the image/media that you want to insert
- Go to the UTIPS menu bar and hover your mouse over Media, then move down and click on Copy.
- UTIPS should go back to your question, with a small thumbnail image of the media that you have inserted into the question.
- Click the Update button to accept the changes.
