I received a message from a teacher this morning wondering how to get his students to his UTIPS site to take tests. Curious??? Read more to find out how.

There are two ways of entering an address in the browser address field to get your students to your site. Both require the use of your username to direct the browser to the correct spot. They are as follows:
http://username.utips.sedck12.org or
http://www.utips.sedck12.org/~username
In the first example, we replaced the standard "www" with the username of the desired account. Make sure that you see the tilde (~) in the second version. The username follows the address, slash, and tilde in the second version. I try to teach the first one, since most kids don't know what a tilde (~) is when you tell them to type it. Both options will go to the exact same place.
For example, Garfield district has a site set up for their entire district to use with the username of garfield2. To get students to that site, they would enter one of the following addresses into their browser:
http://garfield2.utips.sedck12.org or
http://www.utips.sedck12.org/~garfield2
Just remember to

Your district has it's own UTIPS server, the address is:
http://www.utips.tooelesd.org/
So, to get your students to your page, have them use this address:
http://stout.utips.tooelesd.org/ or
http://www.utips.tooelesd.org/~stout
Either one should work.
