Student's name is not displayed in the test results email- Fixed!
Problems & Solutions, Unsolved Issues Add commentsSOLVED! This was a bug in the code that has been fixed and committed to the cvs. You need to have your server administrator update the code to resolve this issue. The SEDC server has been updated and I have tested this - it works. Thanks Ryan!
After the change to the UTIPS last week, I no longer get the student's name in the emailed test results that comes to my email account when a student completes a test. What do I need to change to get their name posted on the emailed message rather than having to go to a copy of their test to get their name?
This is a strange bug, because this problem appears on at least the SEDC and NUES UTIPS servers, but not the SEUTIPS server (SESC). I have sent out a message to the people that need to know about this problem, and hopefully a solution will be found.
For right now, the best work-around is to click on the link at the bottom of the test results message that UTIPS sends. That will take you to the results on UTIPS, and the name of the test taker is listed in the top left-hand corner of the window.
We love the Utips program you have put together for us. The new program is
great except for one very strange and very annoying problem we can not seem to resolve. When we take the test there is this floating percentage bar that really bothers the students. When we click to the next question it floats back to the top and covers part of the next question and we have to go over and scroll down again. Its a bigger problem when we enlarge the type because it then enlarges the floating bar. It gets in the way. I can't figure out how to disable it. It distracts the students from concentrating on the test. What are we doing wrong? A tech person named Clint gave me some input on what to do but it does not work. Is it something in the preferences? Sorry to bother you. Rocky
The short answer is that you can't disable the entire bar. The instructions that I gave you (the tech guy that gave you input was me) will turn the test percentage listing in the bar on or off. As of now, there is no way that you can turn the bar off.
In the prior version of UTIPS, the submit button was on the top of the page, and some students were confused that they could not always see the submit button when they were done with the test. The floating submit button feature was asked for back then. l guess the request needed to be a bit more specific.
I agree that the bar is a little annoying and it would be nice to be able to have your choice of viewing the entire bar, just the submit and text larger/smaller buttons, and no floating bar at all. Unfortunately, there is no option as of right now.
Sorry,
Clint
