Volume Calculator plugin for Google SketchUp
Link: http://www.crai.archi.fr/rubylibrarydepot/ruby/EM/VolumeCalculator.rb
To use Google SketchUp to draw 3D objects and calculate the volume of these, you will need this Volume Calculator plugin file (right or control-click on the link and choose "Download Linked File..." or "Save Link As..."). Download it and save it into the Plugins folder for SketchUp. Please comment on this article if you need help with this.

Sounds great.
Now how do you get it to work?
Where do you put the plugin?
How do you enable it?

Thomas,
I did include a link in the post for the file - right click (control-click for the Mac) and choose "Save File As..." and save it somewhere that you can find it (probably the Desktop would be the best). Once it is saved, navigate to the following location: Macintosh HD --> Library --> Application Support --> Google SketchUp 6 --> SketchUp --> Plugins. Drag the VolumeCalculator.rb file that you downloaded from the link above to the Plugins folder.
Open (or quit and restart) SketchUp for the plugin to be loaded. Now, draw a shape with volume (a box, for example), select the entire box and sides, and right-click (or control-click) and make the selection a group. Now that it is a group, right click again, and Volume will be one of the choices available. You can select the volume units and other options.
That should do it. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Sorry that I didn't have enough information in the first post.

Hi,
first of all thanks to you. It´s an interesting option for sketchup. I have a very old Pc Pentium 3 800 GHz. I tried to calculate a simple model but sketchup crashes all the the time with a cpu usage of 100 %. Is it a stable plugin and possible to use for complex buildings?
Greetings

Did not seem to work with a barreled design. it only calculated the area of the box portion not the area of the curved portion.
